38 International Pre-Arrival Guide 2012 Arriving in the UK Travel by train Arriving in Oxford Trains (£20-£25) run regularly from Paddington Station in central London to Oxford and take about one hour. Oxford Station is on the west side of the city, about 4km from Headington Campus. If you are not using the meet and greet service on 15 and 16 September 2012 (see page 37) go straight to your accommodation by taking a taxi from the coach or train station in central Oxford. At Gloucester Green coach station, ask the coach driver to direct you to the taxi ranks. Taxis to halls will cost about £10, except for Wheatley Campus which will be about £20. Travel by taxi Taxis to Oxford from the airports and London are very expensive. We advise you to travel by coach or train. If you decide to use a taxi, book in advance, so that the taxi will be at the airport to meet you. The fares will be different depending on which airport you are arriving at, but they are likely to be between £100 and £160 for a taxi.
